Night Vision
When you're wandering around your campsite at night there are plenty of things hidden in the darkness. An owl is perched in a tree watching you, a porcupine forages for food, and a red-eyed tree frog silently sits and waits for his dinner. All this and more surrounds you, and for the most part, you won't see them. Shining a flashlight into the bushes where you hear a noise will only scare away whatever was there. Instead, pop a pair of night vision goggles on to bring nighttime wildlife into view without startling them. Night vision goggles can also make it much easier for you to find where you're going in the darkened woods! There are many types of night vision gadgets that range from goggles to binoculars and everything in between. 
Thermal Imaging
What's cooler than night vision? Heat vision!!! Heat vision can help you pick out different situations in the dark just based on the heat that's being giving off. For example, if you're RVing With Pets and your four-legged friend wanders away from your campsite in the dark, you can use thermal imaging to identify where he is. It will detect his body heat and help you zero in on him so you can safely bring him home. You can also use a thermal imagine device to make sure your campfire is out. During the day it can be easy to mistake a smoldering coal for an extinguished coal. If you use thermal imaging, you will be able to see if any coals still need extinguishing. A company called FLIR creates thermal vision gadgets. They offer marine-specific devices that are great for boating, and they also have an accessory that you can attach to your smart phone! With this accessory, you just use the screen on your phone to identify what you're looking for!

With a lot of apps and blog posts that help to make camping even more fun and easy, we use our iPhones a lot when we go camping.
